Free style embroidery is a favourite media of mine. Stitching makes me feel connected to women backwards in time. We have done this for ages.
Stitching connects us as women on a practical level. As an artist I enjoy the interconnectedness of working with materials and techniques so intimately bound to womanhood.
Being an art embroiderer means exploring and examining traditions and passed down knowledge.
It means learning and observing rules with one purpose in mind: to break them and lift them into the realm of contemporary art.
